Anonymous: My guy friend for 5 years (on/off due to bickering and such) joined the Army last year and was at basics last fall, we stopped talking around November and started up again mid-January. Our feelings for one another became more apparent, and when actually confronted each other about it. We made some decisions. Like actually going out, and potentially getting serious. But we are going to wait until summer leave to make sure that an 'us' can actually happen. And we both understood that trust (contd)

.

Anonymous: (contd), honesty, and communication are huge factors. I’m just so nervous about the being faithful situation! But at the same time… I’m so happy about there being an ‘us’! This talk happened about a week and a half ago. And I am trying, for the next few months, to see if I can handle being in a serious relationship with him. The military side, I can handle. My dad is a former Marine, and has always imagined me ending up with a military guy. I just don’t know where to go from here.. (contd)

.

Anonymous: (contd) I hope I am making sense… His main problem is drinking, and then making the move from getting laid every weekend to just having intimate talks with me. And he texted me this morning saying that he passed out in his best friends gf’s car with her best friend… with him. I haven’t texted him back. I just don’t know what to take from this… please, please, please help !!!

You need to explain to him that the only way you can try and make it work with him is if he changes his ways. Explain to how it effects you that he drinks and then hooks up with girls. Tell him that you are worried that could happen when you guys are dating. Hopefully he is understanding.
